No satellite connection here. So, I won't receive an E-mail telling me of the status of my Jimmy, they can't start my Jimmy, they don't know for sure where it is (to cloudy), they can't turn off my Jimmy and they can't E-mail me a ticket for not cleaning it off sooner. Oh, Darn.
I saw a quick internet advertisement about On Star, the satellite program that General Motors uses on their new vehicles. On Star isn't a great deal different from any other vehicle satellite connected program, designed to keep track of your vehicle and its general operations. These wonderful programs tell the company (whoever they are), what you have been doing, what you are doing, etc. with your vehicle.
Anyhow, the quick advertisement was bragging about connecting with your vehicle and sending you an e-mail concerning the condition of your car, truck, suv, whatever, so that you will know the status of your vehicle. And, this is all done while your vehicle is parked and you are most likely sleeping. I find that just a little spookey/frightening and others may find that wonderful and say wow, how wonderful that "THEY" are watching out for me and my vehicle. Ya, OK, believe that if you want. Have they taken just a little more of your empowerment? I think so. Butch
