We humans need to start controlling technology, because as of now, technology is in control of us. A few questions: How important is your cell phone to you? Right now, this moment, where is your cell phone? Do you sleep with your cell phone with you or very close to you? What would you do without a cell phone? Do you feel alone and disconnected without your cell phone? How are your conversation skills and when did you last have a real one on one personal contact conversation? What is real to you? Do you feel manipulated? Cell phones are just one technology "thing" that we deal with, or quite possibly deals with us. Butch
If someone "individual" makes the decision to change their sex, renounce their sex, decide to be a neuter, who has the responsibility for all that is attached to these decisions? I don't like discrimination and I make a real effort not to discriminate. However, I believe that everyone must take responsibility for their beliefs, what they do, their actions, themselves. Their actions should or rather must not effect me. And, if they do effect me, they are treading on my rights, not a good thing. Butch
There is a Pot emergency in Las Vegas. I spent some years in Las Vegas and it is easy to see how some would have difficulty finding more Marijuana (Pot), however, it was never considered an emergency. Now the government is involved and it has all ways been involved in some way or another, so anything could take place.
While in college, graduate school and working heavy construction I did smoke pot, something I no longer need and haven't needed for many years. And, being out was never an emergency. So, what is going on here? The answer to that nowhere question is that "We As A Nation Are More Stoned Than Ever Before and There Is No Peaking Of This Downward Spiral In Sight". In other words it is going to get worse.
The following will add credence to what I have just written. A total of about 78,700,000 people of all ages in the United States are stoned on legal, prescription drugs: ADHD, Antidepressants, Anti-psychotic, Anti-Anxiety type drugs. Now legalized Pot is in the mix along with other "non-legal" drugs. So, how many people in the U.S. are NOT stoned, under the influence, impaired, etc.?
What to do, wake-up, get off of your chosen drug (Opiate or numbing agent) and start taking responsibility for your life, your choices, your actions. Butch
Why are we more interested in getting rid of the weeds in lawns than in the government. Billions of dollar$ are spent getting rid of or controlling weeds in gardens and lawns. What if the same emphasis on weed control was spent ridding the government of weeds?$ Right now, this moment the weeds are taking control of our country, the world, our lives and the chemical that works best for ridding the world of governmental weeds is attention (mixed with a healthy portion of real knowledge, knowing what is actually happening), our attention. Being an individual can be a challenge and the most important thing that you can do for yourself. I have found that anyone can be an individual and that as an individual "I" miss out on the pleasures of many of societies opiates. I don't participate in long meaningful conversations about the medications, drugs, chemicals I am taking, I don't participate in the flu, like many others. I don't have a smart phone so I think for my phone, my self, my life. I don't watch TV, so I miss out on all of those commercial advertisements, professional sports, network news, etc. I don't have the dogma of an organized religion to tell me how I "should" lead my life, so I take responsibility for myself and there in lies important keys to being an individual, taking responsibility for your life and being a human. We humans, along with every other living thing on our planet, do have a start and an end, and all of the time spent and lived between the start and end I call "my" time line. My time line appears to me like a long stretch of railroad track that I am standing beside. I am standing in relation to the track as today and to my left, as far as I can see is my past with all of its events and happenings. To my right is my future as far as I can see, with it's events and happenings. This works for me and there are other configurations that may work better for you.
As far as the Cosmos and time the increments are so large that we humans may think of time as not existing. What we think of time is our concept of how "time" is used or not used. To borrow a quote from Star Trek "Some one told me that Time is a predator that stalks us all our lives, but I rather believe that time is a companion that goes with us on the journey, and reminds us to cherish every moment. because they will never come again. what we leave behind is not as important as how we have lived". How we have utilized our time. Our world is about perceptions and time can't be changed, however our perceptions of time, can be. "Time" Robert
What you see is what you get, but only you see it and only you perceive it. Your world is unique to only you and it only exists to you. If your world is not empowering to you, change your perception of it and when you do that you change your world (simple and difficult). We are the products of many many years of conditioning, to see the world the way "they" want us to see it (perception control). Are you able to keep up with their expectations, do you care, are you on a path less traveled are you the sheep that takes a different turn? Are you living in (perceiving) a world that empowers you or "them"? Butch
Vietnam, My War, or at least the war I was involved in, was the result of a lie (The Tonkin Gulf), well most likely many lies. I don't remember having hate for any of the opposing soldiers, Vietnamese soldiers, even though they were doing their best to do me in and very sad to say were successful in many instances, However we did kill hundreds of thousands of them, the sad results and purpose of war. I have talked with many Vietnamese and they didn't seem to hold any hate for me or us, even though we did invade their country. If one can't find hate of a people in war how can one find hate of people not in war?
There are people who I don't like to spend a great deal of time around or with and I don't especially like them, however Hate is something else. There are people in our country who hate others, because of thier religious beliefs and many others (them) who hate us for our religious beliefs. I don't have a religion, so I find this very difficult to understand. I may not be the most loving individual, but I don't hold hate. The Beatles have a song, all you need is love. Hate may be the most destructive emotion there is. What or who do you hate and WHY? Butch
What is reality? What is real? Is reality manipulated? These questions came to mind when I was able to view some previews of the most popular and the latest TV Reality programming. These syndicated TV shows call themselves reality shows, however If these programs/shows are in any way mirrored images of real life, we may not have a positive future. These TV programs seem to elicit the worst in our culture and relate to Fear and the quest for Drama, among other culturally addicting behaviors. Are we truly that afraid and do we need that much drama in our lives and are we that easily manipulated? I weened myself from TV about 12 years ago and I don't miss it, give it a try, you will be surprised at how much lighter and better you will feel. Limit the drama in your life. Butch
