Placebo, the most effective and most tested medication there is. I can't over estimate or talk to much about beliefs (placebos) and health. They, the medical, need you to believe that you need them, their drugs and procedures, to maintain some semblance of of health. The fewer symptoms you have the healthier(?) you are. Symptoms are a warning of "something" being wrong, or not functioning properly and symptoms always have a root cause. And, thoughts/beliefs are major root causes for just about everything.
So, how do you change your beliefs to empower you? One great way to start is to question, something like, I wonder what else there is that I could do. This questioning and wondering will start you on a journey of learning and real knowledge, leading to health self-empowerment. Another thing you can do is to change your environment by limiting your exposure to advertisements designed to dis-empower you by convincing you to believe in them and not yourself (the nocebo). Actively seek out alternative health care information and know that "they" will not present this alternative knowledge to you. Another and quite possibly the most important starting step is to experience some success with alternative health care, really notice how great it is to feel good. I have been experiencing successes with alternative health care modalities for more than 40 years. Beliefs, the Placebo effect and learning how they can and do work. livingthewellness.com Bob Brown
