Wellness is a state of being and your concept of wellness was learned, first from your parents or the people who were responsible for you when you were young, then you learned from those around you and now the largest influence on the masses is the media, especially TV. If you watch TV, listen to the radio, read magazines and newspapers, your beliefs about just about everything are being manipulated. The most blatantly manipulative of all the facets of the media are the commercial advertisements. Commercial advertisements do affect what you do, how you think and how you believe.
If your parents concept of wellness was to go to the Md. for just about everything you will tend to follow as they did and commercial advertisements along with the media will further intrench those erroneous thoughts/concepts/beliefs. After all what worked for them (but how well did it actually work for them, have you ever thought of questioning that) will work as well for you and as well is the key, because how well did total belief in the medical and using the medical for everything actually, really work.
