First some Good News. Sweetened Soda Pop Drink sales are down from from an average of 51 gallons per year per person to about 44 gallons per year now and the best news, this includes diet/artificially sweetened "soft drinks". It's no secret that artificial sweeteners are dangerous and they are linked to about a 50% increased risk of heart disease in certain populations, to an increased risk of diabetes, headaches, vision problems and neurodegenerative diseases (Are you still drinking/eating it?).
Aspartame may be the most dangerous food additive product in history (may be that is). Aspartame has never been proven safe and was not proven safe when Donald Rumsfeld and Ronald Reagan facilitated its entry into the worlds foods about 30 years ago (this is an interesting story of government at its most usual, check it out). And, to make Aspartame even more wonderful now, it's owned by Monsanto. "OUTSTANDING'.
The government still is saying that it is safe and the Dairy Industry wants to include it in dairy products, without labels. What do you think? Robert Brown
